William Scales

Axton, Va. - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mr. William Scales of 216 Mars Dr. Axton, Virginia., who died Saturday, July 4, 2020 in the Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro, North Carolina.

He was born in Eden, North Carolina, the son of the late George Scales and Verla Dillard Scales, born October 29, 1969.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlene Scales and Mary Lillie Scales and one brother, George Edward Scales.

His survivors are one sister, Katina Scales of Martinsville, Virginia; four brothers, Fabian Scales and Ophus Dillard of Axton, Virginia; Vernoise Scales of Martinsville, Virginia and Henry Dillard of Eden, North Carolina; other relatives and friends.

*Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 5:00 pm  to 8:00 pm in the sanctuary of St. John Baptist Church in Axton, Va., with a limit of 10 people at a time. Please remember to follow CDC guidelines with everyone wearing protective gloves and masks.
