Walter Lee Henderson, 75,
Walter, fondly known as “Frog”, was one of ten children born on May 6, 1945 in Yanceyville, North Carolina to the late Percy Henderson, Sr. and Lizzie Marie Blackwell Henderson. He was educated in the Caswell County public school system. Walter was a member of Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church and was employed by Dan River Mills until his health declined. Walter loved his family and enjoyed family gatherings especially during the holidays.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving daughter, DeShunta Phillips-McDuffie, two grandsons, Jacquece McDuffie and Jihad McDuffie, a great granddaughter, Madison McDuffie, all of East Orange, New Jersey; three sisters, Shirley Jefferys (Walter) of Camp Springs, Maryland, Doris Blackwell and Kacine Graves (Dwight) all of Yanceyville, North Carolina; five brothers, Percy Henderson, Jr. (Margretta) of Reidsville, North Carolina, Melvin Henderson, Sr. (Doris), Bradford Henderson (Curlise), Arnold Henderson, and Eugene Henderson all of Yanceyville, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Walter was preceded in death by his sister Joan Johnson and her husband Wilbert Johnson.
