Remonia Neshall Tarpley Guthrie

Durham, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Remonia Neshall Tarpley Guthrie of 3315 Tarleton West Durham, NC, formerly of Danville, VA., who passed away Monday, June 14, 2021 at the Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC.

Mrs. Remonia Neshall Tarpley Guthrie was born on February 12, 1958 in Danville, VA to the late William E Tarpley and Annie Pearl Law Tarpley.  She confessed Christ at a young age and joined the Tarpley Chapel Baptist Church and later became a member of Southside Church of Christ.

She was a graduate of Hampton University with a BA in Gerontology. She retired from Duke University Hospital as a Health Unit Coordinator.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Remonia Neshall Tarpley Guthrie was preceded in death by one brother Dwight E. Tarpley, one sister Carson Marie Madison and father-in-law William Guthrie.

Mrs. Remonia Neshall Tarpley Guthrie leaves to cherish her memories her beloved husband, Leon Guthrie of the home , two daughters; Davida Annye Guthrie of Columbia, MD, and Kimberly Marie Guthrie of Philadelphia, PA;  seven sisters; Martha L. Waller of Danville, VA; Tiny A. Williams (Arthur) of Boston, MA.; Ruby T. Rolley of Boston, MA;  Barbara Harper of Danville, VA., Sylvia T. Crawley of Philadelphia, PA; Pastor Joan Tarpley Robinson of Chatham, VA;  Della Denise Millner of Danville, VA ;mother-in-law, Lorraine Guthrie of Durham, NC; sister-in-law, Carolyn Griffin (Jackie) of Greenville, NC; three brothers-in law, Gregory Guthrie (Victoria) of Durham, NC, Forrest Guthrie(Isabelle) of Bronxville, NY and Earnest Madison of Philadelphia PA; one aunt, Mattie Cabell (Rev. James Cabell) of Danville, VA; one uncle, Floyd Breedlove (Vera) of Danville, VA and a host of other relatives and friends.

Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Friday, June 18, 2021 from 2:00 to 7:00 PM in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of  Fulton-Walton Funeral Home, Yanceyville, NC with a limit of 10 people at a time.

Graveside services for Mrs. Remonia Neshall Tarpley Guthrie will be Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Highland Burial Park. Danville, Va.
