Priscilla Elmore Slade

Milton, NC—It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Ms. Priscilla Elmore Slade of 58 Bridge Street, Milton, NC, who passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023,  after a long and full life at her residence.

Priscilla was born November 20, 1922, on the border of Person and Caswell Counties in North Carolina. She was the youngest and the only survivor of 12 offspring born to the late Henry Johnson Elmore and Mary Fannie Elliott Elmore. " To God Be the Glory." She was educated in the public schools of Caswell County and graduated from Caswell County Training School in 1941.

She was nurtured by the influence of a Christian family, which resulted in her becoming a diligent and faithful church worker. Priscilla was a devoted member of Chestnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church for more than eighty years. As a loyal servant, she served with the Sunday School, Senior Choir, Deaconess, Communion Committee, and as President of the Missionary Circle. Also, Mrs. Priscilla Slade humbly serves as Mother of the Church.

Priscilla was a phenomenal woman who exemplifies special character traits of love, devotion, faith, strength and determination to serve the Lord, her church family, her immediate family, and friends.

Priscilla was married to Raymond Slade, to this union four children were born, Gladys, Brenda, Shirley, and Melvin. She was the grandmother of twelve and great-grandmother of ten; a host of nieces; nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing for Mrs. Priscilla Elmore Slade will be Saturday, April 1, 2023; from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Priscilla Elmore Slade will be Sunday, April 2, 2023; 2 p.m. at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Semora, NC.

Interment will follow at the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Semora, NC.
