Naomi S. Watlington

Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Ms. Naomi Southern Watlington of Hwy 86 North, who passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 in the Sovah Health Danville, Virginia.

She was a native of Caswell County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Ollie Will Southern and Ellen Lea Southern, born August 10, 1936.

Naomi was educated in the Caswell County School System.  She was a member of Hamer Baptist Church and worked at Dan River until retirement.  After retirement, she worked in Home Care.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Harry, Ollie, Roosevelt, James Robert, Bobby and Willie Lea Southern;  four sisters, Mary Alice Hayes, Willie Mae Southern, Pencie Scott, and Adeline Mitchell.

Her survivors are one loving daughter, Bushia Moore of the home; three sons, James Watlington, Willie Southern and Alphonzo Southern all of Yanceyville, North Carolina; one loving sister, Minister Juanita Brim (Willie) of Milton, North Carolina; 6 grandchildren, NaZear Isley, James Corbett, Aisha Skipper, Robin Childs, James and Javonte White; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; Her down through the years road buddies, Margaret Dillard, Maude Nash, Helen Turner, and PeeWee McCain; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

*Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be held on Saturday , May 30, 2020 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time. Please remember to follow CDC guidelines with everyone wearing protective gloves and masks. * Masks are required to enter the building.

Graveside Service will be Sunday, May 31, 2020 2:00 pm at Hamer Baptist Church Cemetery.
