Minister Angel Yancey Patrick

Pelham, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Minister Angel Yancey Patrick, 61 of 5204 Allison Rd. Pelham, NC, who passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 in the Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC.

Angel affectionately known as “Fuzzie” was the daughter of the late James Henry Yancey, Sr., and Annie Gwynn Yancey, born August 27, 1961 in Rockingham County, North Carolina.

Angel was a 1979 graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School, in Yanceyville, North Carolina.

Angel was a member of Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Pelham, North Carolina, where she was an associate minister.

Angel was an employee at Elon University in Elon, North Carolina as a custodian until her declining health.

Angel met and married the “Love of her life” on August 30, 1997 to George A. Patrick.

Angel was truly an “Angel on Earth”. She touched the lives of many with the “Word of God” Angel called everyone “Bae”. She will truly be missed by many!

In addition to her parents, Angel was preceded in death by her sister, Annie Y. Sellars (NeeCee); one brother, James H. Yancey, Jr. (Boo); three sisters-in law; Terri Patrick Johnson, Della Patrick Pinnix, and Robyn Ann Pinnix; and a brother-in-law, Michael Patrick.

Minister Angel Yancey Patrick leaves to cherish her beloved memories her husband, George A. Patrick of the home; her only child, Sharmesha (Brandon) Taylor; one sister, Sharon Holloway (Minister David); one brother, US Air Force Retired Senior Master Sergeant Michael Earl Yancey (Terri); four aunts, Elenor Mitchell, Esther Gwynn, Earlee Yancey, and Margie Yancey; two Uncles Ross A. Gwynn (Ethel), and Ulyssus Holland; three sisters-in-law, Mary Henry (Thomas), Cathy Whitsett, and Gloria Patrick; four brothers-in-law, Edward Sellars, Larry Pinnix, David Patrick (Cathy), and Jerry Patrick (Kim); two grandchildren; special friends, Vonda Williamson, Renee Tinnin, Beatrice Graves, Bernice Herbin, Minister Lottie Walker, Minister Corey Pickard, Porcha Russell, Patricia Pickard, Virginia Williams, and Tammy Hopkins; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A viewing for Minister Angel Yancey Patrick will be Tuesday, October 04, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral

Funeral Services for Minister Angel Yancey Patrick will be Wednesday, October 05, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where Pastor Greggory Hopkins will deliver the words of comfort. Interment will follow in the Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Pelham, North Carolina.
