Louise Royster Elmore

Leasburg, NC -  It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Louise Royster Elmore of 515 Elmore Rd. Leasburg, NC, who passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021 in the Roxboro Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Roxboro, NC.

Mrs. Louise Royster Elmore was born in Caswell County, North Carolina on October 27, 1928  to the late Willie and Julia Richmond Royster. She attended school in Caswell County. 

Mrs. Louise Royster Elmore joined the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where she was a dedicated member and later joined the Word of Faith Apostolic Church in Milton, NC, where she was a loyal and faithful member until her health declined. She served as a Missionary, member of the Adult Choir and was a faithful Sunday member.

She retired from Richmond Cedar Works in Danville, VA many years ago.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, John Willis Elmore, three brothers; James Otis Royster, Willie Royster, Robert Royster, and two sisters; Christine Royster and Carrie Royster.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons; Larry Elmore (Linda) of Bowie, MD; James Calvin Elmore (Brenda) of Yanceyville, NC; Melvin Elmore (Toni) of Danville, VA; and a devoted daughter, Barbara Ann Poteat (Carl) of Milton, NC; four sisters, Alease Phelps (Floyd) and Dorothy Cunningham of Semora, NC; Annie Ruth Brandon (Herman) of Alton, VA; and Jo Ann Chadwick of Jacksonville, NC; one brother-in-law, Murphy Hatchett of Leasburg, NC;  grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host  of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 2:00 to 7:00 PM in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home, Yanceyville, NC with a limit of 10 people at a time.      (Per CDC Guidelines: Facial Masks are required)

Funeral Services for Mrs. Louise Royster Elmore will be Thursday, June 10, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Word of Faith Apostolic Church, Milton, NC.  Visitation prior to service at 12:30 PM.   Pastor Edward Breedlove will deliver the words of comfort.  Interment will follow in the Word of Faith Apostolic Church Cemetery, Milton, NC.  (Per CDC Guidelines: Facial Masks are required).
