Joyce Brown Badgett

Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow  we announce the passing of Mrs. Joyce Brown Badgett of 185 Dillard School Dr. Yanceyville, who passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 at her residence.

Joyce was a native of Caswell County, the daughter of Ed Brown and Orvis Hinton Brown, born September 3, 1934.  At a young age, she joined and became a member of Graves Chapel Baptist Church in Yanceyville, NC.  For a number of years, Joyce worked for Caswell County Schools as a Bus Driver.

Joyce is the last survivor of her generation.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her daughter, Margie Badgett-Lampkin; two sisters, Marnie Brown Vaughn and Dora Bell Brown Sellars; five brothers, Melvis Brown, Sr., Lit Page Brown, Irvin Malloy Brown, Fred Brown, and Herbert Brown, Sr.

Mrs. Joyce Brown Badgett leaves to cherish her memories to, her husband, Salem Carver Badgett of the home, one daughter, Elder Melondy Badgett, Yanceyville, NC, two sons, Rodney Carver Badgett, Yanceyville, NC, and Brian Keith Badgett, Sr., Lawrenceville, VA; three sister-in-laws, Connie Steadman, Betty Brown, and Pauline Brown, all of Yanceyville, NC; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; special friends; Melissa Stephens,  Latasha Samuels, Pamela Wade Thaxton, Jacqueline Finklea, Sandra Brown Harris; special great-nephew; Audwin Chandler Vaughn; along with a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A viewing for Mrs. Joyce Brown Badgett will be Friday, August 5, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Brown Badgett will be Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 774 Mineral Springs Road, Pelham, NC.
