John Willie Long Jr.

Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. John Willie Long Jr. of Moorefield Road, Yanceyville, North Carolina, who departed this life on Sunday, March 21, 2021 in the Sovah Health Danville, Virginia.          

He was a quiet and polite son of the late John Willie Long, Sr. and Sarah McClain Long Turner, born February 23,1958 in Caswell County, North Carolina.

John was a “Class of 1977” graduate from Bartlett Yancey Senior High School in Yanceyville, North Carolina. He was also a member of Yanceyville Missionary Baptist Church.

John was a employee for Cones Mill, Greensboro, North Carolina; Glen Raven Mills, in Burlington, North Carolina; finally a Meat cutter at Red & White Grocery store in Yanceyville, North Carolina. His favorite pastimes were watching the Westerns, and watching Sanford and Son.

In addition to John’s parents, he was preceded in death by his one sister, Mary Elaine Long Love; and one brother, James Alexander Long.

Mr. John Willie Long, Jr., leaves to cherish his memories to one daughter, Amber Leigh Long of Greensboro, North Carolina; one aunt, Betty M. Taylor of Blanch, North Carolina; a devoted niece, Jami Long; a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives, and friends

Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 4 to 7 p. m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time.

(Per CDC Guidelines: Facial Masks are required).

Funeral Services for Mr. John Willie Long, Jr. will be Sunday, March 28, 2021, 2:00 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Yanceyville Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Yanceyville, North Carolina.  (Per CDC Guidelines Facial Mask are required).

*Attendance at the funeral will be limited to fifty (50) individuals and attendees will be pre-determined by the family*.
