James Levell Foster

Washington, DC - James Levell Foster (affectionally known as “Pee Wee”) was born February 27, 1946, in Caswell County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Randolph Foster, Sr. and Linnie Turner Foster, and bonus Mother, the late Pansy K. Foster who nurtured and cared for James as her very own after uniting in marriage to his father after his birth mother passed away early. James was the youngest son of his siblings. He departed his earthly life on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the Howard University Hospital, Washington, DC.

In his early years, James was free spirited, loving, fun and a crowd charmer. James confessed his life to Christ in his younger years, being baptized and joining Mineral Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He received his education from the Caswell County School System and went on to start a family. He had 3 beautiful children. During this time in North Carolina James would work several jobs but he quickly found out that staying in North Carolina would not provide the best life and support system needed.

To have a better life, James made the life changing decision to move to Washington, DC where he would flourish and make great means for himself. This move proved to be very pivotable and because of this he spent the remainder of his life in the metropolitan area.

Preceding him in death are his son, Dennis Millner,; daughter, Stephanie Foster Johnson; three brothers, Randolph Foster, Jr., John Foster and Charles Foster.

James’ legacy will forever be remembered and cherished by, A Very Special friend, Christine Nails of Washington, DC, Daughter, Rhonda Foster Adams of Reidsville NC, one brother, Willie Henry Foster of Yanceyville, NC, three sisters, Patricia Yvonne Russell, Robin Foster Brown (Mel), and Annie M. Foster, all of Yanceyville, NC; four Grandchildren, Jarrod Adams, Brittney Adams Broadnax (Charlie), Jordan Adams, and Jeremiah Johnson; six Great Grandchildren, Jaylen Adams, A'mare Broadnax, Kamryn Broadnax, Sabella Broadnax, Jarmoni Adams, and Jaceion Adams, One Aunt, Elnora Turner Johnson, Reidsville, NC; Bonus Daughter, Sharon Davenport, Bonus Granddaughter, Lakaya Davenport, a multitude of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

A viewing will be Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 4 to 7 PM in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mr. James Levell Foster will be held Sunday, July 17, 2022 at 1:30 PM in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home. 

Interment will follow in the Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
