James Lee Hughes

Providence, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mr. James Lee Hughes of 10169 Hwy 86 N, Providence, NC who passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 at the VA Medical Center, Durham, NC.

He was the son of the late Lee Moses Hughes and Katie Johnson Hughes, born October 30,1950 in Caswell County, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Hughes Lockhart.

He was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a Deacon, member of the Board of Trustees and Veterans Club.

He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He leaves to cherish his memories four sisters, Barbara Hughes Adkins of Baltimore, MD, Daisy Hughes Plante (William) of Atlanta, GA, Mary Hughes Harrelson (Leroy) and Angela Hughes Taylor, both of Pelham, NC and a host of other relatives and friends.   

A viewing will be Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 2 to 7 p. m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

(Per CDC Guidelines: Facial Masks are required).

Funeral Services for Mr. James Lee Hughes will be Sunday, June 13, 2021, 1:00 p.m. with family arriving thirty minutes prior to the service at the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church with Pastor William Foust delivering the words of comfort. Interment will follow with military rites in the church cemetery.  (Per CDC Guidelines Facial Mask are required).
