Hazel Harrelson Hairston

Pelham, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Ms. Hazel Harrelson Hairston age 72, of 3710 Allison Road, Pelham, NC, who passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022, at her residence.

Hazel was the daughter of the late Onza Terry Harrelson, Sr and Helen Williamson Harrelson, born March 24, 1950; in Caswell County, North Carolina.

Hazel was a 1968 graduate of Caswell County High School, in Yanceyville, North Carolina

At an early age, Hazel joined New Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church in Ruffin, North Carolina; where she was a member for both the Gospel and Mass Choir, and she served faithfully for many years.

Hazel was an employee for Burlington Industries Drapery Plant and Kmart Corporation both in Reidsville, North Carolina prior to her retirement. She later became employed at Cato Department Store in Reidsville, North Carolina.

Hazel was a loving person, who had an infectious smile that could light up any room. She loved and supported her children and grandchildren. Hazel also had a love for flowers, doing puzzles and word searches. She will truly be missed!

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her two sisters, Gennie Harrelson Martin, and Dorothy Harrelson Brown; one brother, Onza Terry Harrelson, Jr.

Ms. Hazel Harrelson Hairston leaves to cherish her beloved memories her one daughter, Erika Brandon Nunnally of Pelham, North Carolina; her one son; Duane Keith Hairston (Janell) of Brunswick, Georgia; her three sisters, Minnie Harrelson Ratliff (Richard) of Reidsville, North Carolina, Evangelist Ruby Harrelson Hines, and Blanche Harrelson Lambert (Arey) both of Pelham, North Carolina; her two aunts, Lona Mae Williamson of Reidsville, North Carolina, and Ruby Harrelson of Pelham, North Carolina; her four grandchildren, Taylor L. Nunnally, Chalissa Y. Hairston, Brendan T. Nunnally, and Jaden D. Hairston; her special friends, Barbara Graves, Betty Blackwell, Margie Henderson, and Annie Dickerson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and cherished friends.

A viewing for Ms.. Hazel Harrelson Hairston will be  Saturday, September 24, 2022  from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

A visitation for Ms. Hazel Harrelson Hairston  will be Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Ms. Hazel Harrelson Hairston  will be Sunday, September 25, 2022 2:00 PM in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home. Pastor Lamar Boykin will deliver the words of comfort. Rev. Tommy Williamson will preside.

Interment will follow at New Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery, Ruffin, NC
