Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announced the passing of Mrs. Gladys Lipscomb of 445 Cobb Road, Yanceyville, NC who passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 in the UNC Hospital in Hillsborough, NC.
She was a native of Caswell County, NC the daughter of the late Major Brier and Ida Springfield Lea born August 2, 1924. She was a member of Hamer Baptist Church.
She worked as a Homemaker/Chore Provider.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Hubert "Pop Eye" Lipscomb and Henry Cal Lea; two sons, James Lipscomb and David Lipscomb; four brothers, Rev. Cephus Lea, Clyde Wilson Lea, Garmanelle Lea, and George Slade.
Mrs. Gladys Mary Lea Lipscomb survivors are five sons, William Alexander Lipscomb of Yanceyville, NC, Rev. Eugene Lipscomb (Veronica) of Blanch, NC, Major Lipscomb of Providence, NC, Clarence Henry Lea (Sherry) of Prospect Hill, NC, and John Lea of Yanceyville, NC; four daughters, Carol Williamson of Yanceyville, NC, Virginia Mason of Elon, NC, Denise Dobson (Cleveland) of Dobson, NC, and Cassandra Dobson (Graylen) of Pinnacle, NC.; 23 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
