Reidsville, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Ms. Esther V. Watlington of 3027 Stoney Creek School Rd. Reidsville, North Carolina, who passed away Monday, July 12, 2021 in the Authora Collective Hospice in Burlington, North Carolina.
Born May 2, 1950, a native of Caswell County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Herman Vaughn and Beatrice Gwynn Vaughn. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Lois Bigelow and Brenda Vaughn; two brothers, James Vaughn and Salim Salam.
She was a member of Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church, where she held many positions such as Deaconess, President of the Mass Choir, Chairperson of the Kitchen Committee and a member of the Alvister Merrill Missionary Circle. She was an employee of Williamsburg Plant before retirement.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Gregory Vaughn (Angela) of Gibsonville, North Carolina and Robert Watlington of Reidsville, North Carolina; two daughters, Kimberly Watlington of Elon, North Carolina and Bonita Hayes-Logan of Greensboro, North Carolina; two sisters, Patricia Spinks of Yanceyville, North Carolina and Shelia Brown of Washington, District of Columbia; one aunt, Ms. Julia Gwynn of Danville, Virginia; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be Friday, July 16, 2021 from 2 to 7 p. m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for Ms. Esther Vaughn Watlington will be Saturday, July 17, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Dr. D'Angelo Lewis delivering the words of comfort. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
