Danville, VA - DeShanta Lorae Tucker was born August 2, 1978 to Linda Pyles and the late Robert Connally and reared by stepfather Tony Pyles along with 1 daughter TaNyia Tucker and 1 sibling Tondea Pyles of Danville, Virginia. Due to DeShanta’s illness she received a heart transplant on May 26, 2017, and departed this life on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at SOVAH Health in Danville, Virginia.
DeShanta Lorae Tucker was educated in the Danville Public Schools graduating from George Washington High School in 1996 before serving in the US Navy for four years. She received a BA Degree in Business Management from Liberty University and began seeking a degree in Culinary Arts. DeShanta was employed by Dan River Prison Work Farm Yanceyville, North Carolina, as a Correctional Officer and Lost Prevention at JC Penney and Target in Danville, Virginia.
DeShanta Lorae Tucker was baptized at an early age and attended Cornerstone and Apostolic Faith Holiness Churches. Using her gift from God she sung at various churches, weddings, funerals, and sun with groups other than the Tucker Family, DeShanta could sing soprano, alto, contralto, and tenor.
She leaves to cherish her memories, parents Linda Pyles, Tony Pyles, one daughter TaNyia Tucker, one sister Tondea Pyles, a brother Robert Jr. a chosen, favorite sister cousin Yolanda DeShazor, favorite uncle, Darrell Tucker, seven Stepsisters: Quanisha Crawley, Tondra Nguyen, Mandora Poole, Camieko Luck, Thanhnga Nguyen, Keyerra Gwynn, Rachel Raines. Nine aunts: Kathy Lovelace (Danville, Virginia) Shirley Wilson (Ronnie) Milton N.C., Amanda Pettiford (Daniel) Providence, N.C., Margie, Danville, VA, Christine, Thelma (Bobby), Darlene (Donnie), Atlanta, Georgia, Gaynell, Maryland, Debra (Howard),Sutherlin, Va., Belinda (Derrick), Indiana , Geneva, Jewel (preceded in death); Uncles: Harvey Tucker (Rozlin), Savannah, GA., Alvin, Larry, Atlanta, GA, Tommy(Wanda), Maryland, Wilbert, Carl Connally (preceded in death), one favorite nephew Nyleke Henderson, one favorite niece Nylah Pyles, two special adopted aunts Jacqueline Edmonds (Pooh) and Renita Russell, two special friends Jakeeta Scott and Feleta Morton and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 2:00 to 7:00PM in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home, Yanceyville, NC with a limit of 10 people at a time.

Graveside Services for Miss DeShanta Lorae Tucker will be Sunday, April 18, 2021, 3:00PM in the Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA. Interment will follow in the Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA. with Military rights.
