Rocky Mount, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Alice Thompson Barnette of 4009 Crosswinds Dr. Rocky Mount, NC, formerly of Caswell County, NC, who passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 in the UNC Health Care in Rocky Mount, NC.
She was the daughter of the late Buck and Geneva Thompson, born March 6,1942 in Orange County, NC.
She was a member of Allen's Chapel Baptist Church and she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Abria Barnette; five brothers, Buck, Joshua, Ernest, Mack and John Thompson; two sisters, Sallie Walker and Lillie Wiley.
Her survivors are daughter, Patricia Barnette of Rocky Mount, NC; granddaughters, Michelle Coleman (Richard) of Rocky Mount, NC, Marie Garland (Johnny) of Greensboro, NC, and Nikki Townes of Danville, VA.; three God grandchildren, Leslie Lawson of Yanceyville, NC, Quanteesha Baker of Burlington, NCand Cornelius Wilson of Martinsville, VA; great granddaughter, Maliya Kennedo; God great granddaughter, Desirae Johnson; God great grandson, Desion Johnson; one sister-in-law, Druscilla Lea (Jerry); other relatives and friends.
Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home, Yanceyville, NC with a limit of 10 people at a time.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Alice Thompson Barnette will be Monday, May 17, 2021, 1:00 pm in the Allen's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
