Greensboro, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mr. Ervin Slade of 1714 Tucker St. Greensboro, NC, who passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 in the Moses Cone Memorial Hospital Greensboro, NC.
He was a native of Caswell County, NC the son of the late Willie Slade Sr. and Mary Gunn Slade, born June 4, 1933.
He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church, where he was a trustee.
Ervin was a employee of Cone Mill White Oak Plant in Greensboro, NC before retirement.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Ervin Slade Jr. and Keith Slade; two daughters, Shirley Long and Cherry Slade; eight brothers, Roy, Theodis, Detroy, William Otha, Julius, Willie Jr., John, and James Slade; two sisters, Clay Sanders and Adell Graves.
His survivors are wife, Viola D. Slade of the home; two sons, William Slade ( Mary Ann ) and Robert Slade all of Yanceyville, NC; three daughters, Caroline Slade and Hope Slade of Yanceyville, NC, Katina Slade Thomas ( Chris ) of Burlington, NC; two sisters, Maggie Slade Graves ( Freddie ) of Yanceyville, NC and Virginia Watkins of Danville, VA.; granddchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews ; other relatives and friends.
